Announcing the first paper making workshop for this Saturday, January 21st, from 2-4 pm
at 1221 Spaight St.
We’re very excited to offer this workshop of DIY, low tech-household paper making as part of our Book Arts series. This workshop will cover the basics of making pulp from recycled paper and other fibers, into lovely, hand made paper. You can use your new paper to write your magnificent tome, give as gifts, use as cards and stationary, etc. We’ll provide the materials, mostly items we can find around the house, and handouts so you can recreate the process on your own.
Participation is capped at 5 people so please RSVP to shannonathistle@gmail.com if you know you’d like to come. Drop ins are welcome 🙂 If there aren’t enough materials, you can still watch the demo and take a handout for later. Feel free to come a few minutes early to get settled so we can start on time.
Please bring a writing utensil to take notes. You can also bring pressed flowers or flat leaves, or glitter, or such like, to add to the paper. And if you have any paper making equipment you’d like to share for an afternoon, please email me!
This workshop is the second part of our Book Arts Series, but no experience or previous attendance is necessary. Jump right in!
cheers,
Shannon and Kellie
